Leader Education is recruiting a compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join a specialist SEND school in Ashington, Northumberland. This role involves supporting the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people, helping them to access learning and thrive in a safe and supportive environment. The hours are Monday-Friday 8:30-3:30.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils' mental health, emotional wellbeing, and social development
- Assisting with individual behaviour plans and therapeutic interventions
- Providing one-to-one or small group support as required
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals
- Promoting a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have experience supporting children or young people, ideally in a SEND or mental health setting
- Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Hold an enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one
- Be committed to supporting pupils' wellbeing and personal development
