Role – Urban Designer
Location – London
Salary – £40 – £50K DOE
We are working with a multidisciplinary studio in London who have an opening for an experienced Urban Designer. The studio works across architecture, urban design, and interiors, with a portfolio that includes housing, regeneration, mixed-use developments, and public realm projects. The team is collaborative, forward-thinking, and passionate about creating high-quality, sustainable places. Their offices are sociable and well-equipped, offering the latest tools in digital design, model-making, and visualisation.
THE ROLE
This position will suit someone with proven experience in urban design who enjoys shaping projects at both masterplanning and detailed design stages. The successful candidate will take responsibility for project leadership while contributing to the growth of the design team.
Responsibilities
- Leading urban design and masterplanning projects from concept through to delivery
- Preparing and presenting design proposals for clients and stakeholders
- Coordinating with architects, planners, and consultants to achieve high-quality outcomes
- Mentoring junior colleagues and supporting the studio’s design culture
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
- 4–6+ years’ experience working in urban design within the UK
- A strong portfolio demonstrating both conceptual and technical design skills
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software (such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, or Revit)
- Confidence in client-facing roles and public consultations
- A clear understanding of planning policy and sustainable design principles
