Role – Senior Town Planner
Location – Bristol

Our client, an employee-owned multidisciplinary consultancy based in Bristol is looking for a Senior Town Planner to join its team. It’s a place where people can shape projects and contribute to the direction of the business, with a straightforward, supportive environment. The team works on a wide range of projects, including residential, town centre regeneration, and bringing unused sites back into use. They help shape places that are well-designed and sustainable, working with local authorities, developers, and communities.
THE ROLE
The Senior Town Planner will provide planning advice on a range of projects, helping to deliver work that supports good design, sustainability, and well-functioning places. The role involves working within multi-disciplinary teams, liaising with clients, and managing planning processes from start to finish.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Managing planning applications and projects of varying scales
  • Providing clear, practical planning advice to clients and stakeholders
  • Preparing planning reports, documents, and presenting as needed
  • Supporting and guiding junior planners within the team
  • Contributing to developing client relationships and supporting new opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY SKILLS
  • A degree in Town Planning
  • A chartered member of the RTPI (or working towards it)
  • Have experience managing planning projects within consultancy or local authority settings
  • Communicate clearly, both in writing and in discussions
  • Have an interest in good design and sustainable development
  • Enjoy working collaboratively within teams and with clients
  • Be organised and able to manage deadlines across multiple projects
