Overview Role – Landscape Architects - LVIA

Location – Newcastle, Edinburgh, Manchester, London, Bristol

Salary - Β£30K – 38K

Our client, an established multidisciplinary environmental and design consultancy is looking for Landscape Architects with a strong LVIA focus, from graduate level through to pre-Chartered (pre-CMLI), to join its growing landscape and assessment teams across multiple UK offices. The roles offer exposure to a wide range of projects including infrastructure, energy, development and the natural environment, supporting planning and EIA processes at regional and national scales. These positions suit landscape architects looking to build or deepen their LVIA experience within a supportive and technically strong environment.

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Preparation and support of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments and associated technical reports
  • Landscape baseline studies, fieldwork, photography and visual analysis
  • Assessment of landscape and visual effects in line with current guidance and best practice
  • Input into Environmental Statements, planning applications and supporting documentation
  • Collaboration with planners, environmental specialists, engineers and designers within multidisciplinary teams
  • Preparation of figures, mapping and visual material to support LVIA work
  • Client liaison and contribution to project meetings as appropriate to level of experience
  • Ongoing learning and development with mentoring support toward chartership
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT KEY SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • A degree in landscape architecture
  • Interest in or experience of LVIA and landscape planning work within the UK planning system
  • Strong written communication skills and willingness to develop technical report writing
  • Understanding of landscape character and visual assessment principles
  • Organised approach to workload and ability to work across multiple projects
  • Positive and collaborative approach to team working
  • Experience or familiarity with GIS, Adobe Creative Suite and assessment tools
  • Viewpoint photography and visualisation experience advantageous but not essential
  • Exposure to EIA processes beneficial
