Our client, a leading independent planning and landscape consultancy in Edinburgh is looking for a Landscape Architect /Planner to join their multidisciplinary team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a flair for both design and written communication, keen to take on varied and strategic work spanning LVIA, landscape design, masterplanning, capacity studies and environmental assessment.
The studio delivers a diverse portfolio of medium and large-scale residential, mixed-use and strategic masterplanning projects throughout Scotland and the UK. Their integrated approach across landscape, planning, and urban design means team members benefit from a broad learning experience and exposure to different disciplines.
THE ROLE
You’ll work as part of a small, supportive team, producing drawings, illustrations, and concise technical reports across all project stages. You’ll contribute to:
- Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA)
- Strategic masterplans and landscape frameworks
- Capacity and sensitivity studies
- Written planning support documentation
- Design-led planning applications and promotional materials
- Coordinating and preparing material for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
- Supporting client discussions and negotiations with planning authorities and stakeholders
The role also includes opportunities to help shape feasibility work, policy analysis, and early project strategy. If you’re interested in planning, design, and place-shaping as a combined discipline, this is the perfect environment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY SKILLS
- A degree in Landscape Architecture
- A Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI)
- At least 5 years' post-graduate experience
- Confident report-writing and research skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- High-level graphic ability, including proficiency in Vectorworks (preferred) or AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365
