We are a friendly and supportive GP practice in Hertford, looking to recruit a Practice Nurse to join our team on a part-time basis. We are looking for a nurse who is confident or willing to develop skills in:
- Cervical cytology (smear tests)
- Wound care and dressings
- Childhood immunisations
- Management of long-term conditions such as Asthma, COPD, and Diabetes

Job responsibilities:
- Strong knowledge of anatomy to effectively assess and treat patients.
- Excellent patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear interaction with patients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using medical equipment and technology relevant to nursing duties.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
- Ability to carry out general practice nursing procedures such as:
- Wound care and dressings
- Injections and immunisations
- Cervical screening (smear tests)
- Blood pressure monitoring
- ECGs and basic health assessments
- Understanding of primary care services within the National Health Service (NHS).
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control.
- Awareness of safeguarding procedures for vulnerable adults and children.
