Are you an experienced Transmission Design Engineer looking to make a real impact on critical telecommunications infrastructure? You'll play a key role in designing, enhancing and supporting transmission networks that deliver reliable, scalable and cost-effective services to customers across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex network solutions, collaborate with industry experts, influence strategic network design, and help shape the future of digital infrastructure in the UK.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design and improve transmission network solutions that meet customer and business requirements.
- Produce detailed technical designs, drawings and accurate Bills of Materials to support successful project delivery.
- Provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, supporting Project Managers during delivery and Tier 3 Operations during commissioning.
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Project Management and other key stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
- Analyse network requirements and identify opportunities to improve performance, resilience and scalability.
- Ensure all designs comply with engineering standards, operational requirements, health and safety expectations and customer commitments.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience in telecoms infrastructure and network design.
- Knowledge of transmission technologies including SDH/PDH, Radio, Microwave, Protection relays, SCADA.
- Knowledge of IP LAN/WAN solutions is a bonus.
- Knowledge of Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) is advantageous.
- Understanding of ancillary infrastructure requirements, including power and space planning.
- Experience producing technical documentation, network schematics and Bills of Materials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
- A self-motivated and proactive approach with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality solutions on time, within budget and with a strong focus on safety.
