Position Overview

Credit Controller – Neos Networks offers alternative working arrangements including office, home and hybrid per week. Base location: Reading. Salary up to £43,000. Permanent full‑time.

Responsibilities

  • Own end‑to‑end collections process, ensuring payments received as per agreed terms and aged debt actively managed.
  • Report and track aged debt; deliver clear updates to Collections Manager.
  • Develop and manage customer‑specific action plans to drive debt recovery.
  • Proactively chase outstanding payments via phone and email.
  • Maintain own ledger and strong customer relationships.
  • Resolve disputes and queries collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Conduct credit checks to assess new and existing customers.
  • Process cash allocation and support ERP system activities.
  • Handle invoice and credit note queries from a shared mailbox.
  • Raise credit notes in line with internal approval processes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in credit control or a similar finance role.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Confident negotiation skills and solutions‑focused approach.
  • Good numerical and analytical ability to track and communicate financial data.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in best practice debt collection processes.
  • Experience with credit checking tools such as CreditSafe.
  • Understanding of how credit control supports wider business performance.

Technical Skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience using ERP systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and tailor approach to different audiences (customers, Finance, Sales, senior stakeholders).
