Essential Qualifications

  • Relevant and demonstrated experience as a Software and Data Tester, preferably within financial services or other regulated industries.
  • Solid understanding of software testing principles, quality assurance methodologies, and risk‑based testing strategies across data platforms, application services, and cloud environments.
  • Understanding of file‑based workflows such as file processing, period controls and mapping to a common data representation.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Data Platforms and ETL lifecycles, including source‑to‑target (S2T) validation and data quality concepts (profiling, constraints, nullability, data type conformance).
  • Working knowledge of DevOps/CI‑CD practices with Azure DevOps for work management, test planning, execution, and defect tracking.
  • Aware of security/compliance in testing, including identity authentication flows and data governance expectations.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Familiarity with API architectures and front‑ends.
  • Exposure to Azure services (Function Apps, Container Apps) and Power Platform components (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse).

Key Skills

  • Hands‑on T‑SQL for complex S2T checks, deduplication and truncation detection; confident authoring automation in YAML and PowerShell for repeatable tests.
  • Practical ETL testing across full, incremental loads; simulating failures to validate error handling, logging, and retries; evidencing safe rollback/recovery.
  • Proficient in API testing (e.g., Postman), including schema/contract checks, OAuth2 token flows and negative cases.
  • Day‑to‑day fluency with Azure DevOps Boards/Test Plans/Pipelines for traceability from user stories to test cases to runs to defects to release notes.
  • Competent UI tester for JavaScript framework‑based front‑end (e.g., Angular, Vue), validating functional flows, data presentation/accuracy against specification, and contributing to risk‑based regression suites.
  • Exposure to Azure & Power Platform testing: Function/Container Apps, Storage (Blob/Table/Queue), VNets/Key Vault; Power Apps/Automate and Dataverse data/security checks, with monitoring via Application Insights/Log Analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake source‑to‑target (S2T) and data quality validation.
  • Design and run testing for ETL loads, including error handling and recovery.
  • Execute functional and regression testing across APIs and UIs for conformance to specification, data presentation, and accuracy.
  • Undertake end‑to‑end bordereaux scenarios (period controls, CDR mapping, validation rules, multi‑contract files) and ensure contracts are adjusted in test environments to support representative file tests.
  • Author and run unit, integration and load tests for Azure Function/Container Apps and Storage; validate VNet connectivity and Key Vault access.
  • Test Power Apps, Power Automate flows and Dataverse data/security roles.
  • Create maintainable YAML/SQL and PowerShell automation; keep regression packs current and performant.
  • Integrate suites into Azure DevOps pipelines with clear pass/fail criteria, coverage targets, and trend reporting.
  • Log high‑quality defects in Azure DevOps with reproduction steps, SQL outputs/screenshots, links to test cases and user stories; participate in triage and drive closure.
