Partnership Ideation Manager DP World Tour | Partnership Sales Location: Wentworth Head Office Contract: Permanent, full-time Reports to: Head of Partnership Sales Planning
About us
European Tour Group is one of the world's leading golf organisations. We administer the DP World Tour, HotelPlanner Tour, Legends Tour and G4D Tour, and organise the Ryder Cup in partnership with the PGA of America.
The opportunity
We're looking for a Partnership Ideation Manager to develop distinctive creative platforms and activation concepts for prospective DP World Tour and Ryder Cup partners. You'll connect brand objectives with audience needs, creating ideas that are relevant, compelling and credible to deliver. You'll work with Partnership Planning, Sales, Insights, Design and specialist teams across the business to find the strongest storytelling territory and show how an idea can come to life across channels and over time. This is a strategic creative role, not a design or production position: your focus will be on shaping the ideas, narratives and rationale behind partnership proposals.
What you'll do
- Shape the creative response: Interpret agreed briefs, ask the right questions and recommend where creative exploration can add most value.
- Find ownable storytelling territories: Identify the credible intersection between a prospect's brand, audience needs, cultural context and the strengths of the DP World Tour and/or Ryder Cup.
- Build creative platforms: Develop organising ideas, narrative territories and creative principles that can connect activity across channels and over time.
- Create activation concepts: Generate focused ideas across content, digital, social, broadcast, experiential, hospitality, community, employee and business-to-business channels where relevant.
- Ground ideas in evidence: Use audience behaviour, marketing principles, category dynamics, cultural trends and relevant case studies to explain why an idea should work.
- Lead ideation: Plan and facilitate focused workshops, then turn contributions into a coherent and prioritised creative response.
- Develop scalable resources: Create category playbooks, early-stage creative thought-starters and a searchable library of adaptable activation concepts.
- Partner with Design: Write clear visual briefs for concept boards and mock-ups, giving designers space to determine the strongest visual solution.
- Test feasibility: Work with specialist teams to identify rights, talent, operational, production, timing, budget and measurement dependencies before concepts are presented.
- Support priority pitches: Write concise concept copy and rationale, contribute to seller talk tracks and present creative thinking when required.
- Learn and improve: Capture seller and prospect feedback and use it to strengthen future concepts, playbooks and ways of working.
What you'll bring
- Experience developing creative strategy, campaign platforms or activation concepts in a brand, agency, rights-holder or comparable commercial environment.
- A portfolio of work showing how you've translated a business or marketing challenge into a clear creative idea and joined-up response.
- Strong understanding of brand marketing, audience behaviour and integrated campaign thinking.
- Ability to write concise, persuasive creative rationale and explain complex ideas simply.
- Experience leading workshops and helping cross-functional groups make clear creative decisions.
- Confidence collaborating with commercial, strategic, insight, design and delivery specialists.
- Sound judgement when balancing originality with brand fit, evidence, commercial relevance and practical constraints.
- Strong organisation, with the ability to manage several priorities and deadlines without losing attention to detail.
- Confidence presenting and constructively responding to feedback from colleagues and senior stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience in sponsorship, sport, entertainment, media or live events.
- Understanding of partnership rights and how they can be activated across physical and digital channels.
- Experience creating business-to-business, employee, community or hospitality concepts alongside consumer-facing ideas.
- Familiarity with audience research, sponsorship measurement or effectiveness frameworks.
- Experience briefing designers, production partners or specialist agencies.
- Knowledge of golf is helpful, but it isn't essential.
Your approach
- Curious: You look beyond the obvious answer and take time to understand brands, audiences and culture.
- Clear: You create focus, simplify complexity and explain the thinking behind your recommendation.
- Collaborative: You involve the right people early, listen well and build on specialist expertise.
- Commercial: You connect creative choices to the prospect’s objectives and the partnership opportunity.
- Practical: You test ideas before presenting them and are open about assumptions and dependencies.
- Constructive: You challenge respectfully, welcome feedback and improve the work without protecting personal ownership of an idea.
The impact you'll make
Brands can quickly understand the partnership idea, why it fits their brand and how it could come to life. Creative work is distinctive, focused and clearly connected to audience and business outcomes. Concepts are tested early enough to avoid preventable delivery issues. Sales teams have stronger creative stories and greater confidence presenting them. Category playbooks and reusable concepts improve the speed and quality of early-stage responses. Feedback and pitch learning are consistently captured and applied.
