Set above the dunes at Old Hunstanton, Le Strange Arms Hotel is one of Chestnut's much loved Big Houses on the beautiful North Norfolk coast. Our car park is where every visit begins and ends, which makes this role far more important than it might first sound. You will quite literally be the first and last person our guests meet.
We are looking for two Car Park Attendants to share cover across the full week through our busy summer season, with a contract running until the end of September.
What you’ll be doing:
- Giving every guest and visitor a warm, friendly welcome as they arrive, and a proper send off as they leave.
- Directing and positioning vehicles to make the best use of space and keep traffic flowing smoothly around the car park.
- Taking parking payments and handling cash accurately and securely.
- Keeping an eye on the safety of guests, visitors and vehicles at all times, including pedestrians moving through the car park.
- Keeping the car park and entrance area tidy, welcoming and hazard free.
- Helping with directions, luggage and general questions so every visit starts on the right note.
Who we’re looking for:
- Aged 18 or over. This is essential, as the role involves lone working, cash handling and responsibility for the safety of guests and vehicles.
- Friendly, confident and genuinely happy talking to people all day.
- Reliable and punctual, comfortable working outdoors in all weathers.
- Calm and sensible, with good judgement when the car park is busy.
- Trustworthy with cash and payments.
The details:
- Seasonal vacancy with a contract until the end of September 2026.
- Zero hours contract, with normal working hours of 8.00am to 4.00pm.
- Two positions available, sharing cover across seven days a week on a rota.
- £12.71 per hour plus a share of Tronc.
