Role Summary: As our Management Accountant for Retail & Ecommerce, you’ll be at the heart of our Finance function, ensuring every financial “dish” is prepared with precision and insight. You’ll take ownership of Retail and Ecommerce reporting, delivering accurate management accounts, strengthening controls and partnering across the business to drive performance. This role blends technical expertise with commercial awareness, helping shape smarter decisions across our fastest‑moving channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely Retail & Ecommerce management accounts
- Maintain full balance sheet integrity through reconciliations and controls
- Oversee lease accounting and fixed asset management
- Support Group reporting, including cashflow and balance sheet forecasts
- Produce monthly reporting with clear, actionable insight
- Process bank payments and support core financial operations
- Design KPI dashboards to track performance and improve visibility
- Strengthen financial governance, processes and control frameworks
- Partner with Retail, Ecommerce and operational teams to drive performance
- Act as a finance process expert, supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Seasonal Menu:
- Deliver monthly, quarterly and year‑end reporting cycles
- Support Group submissions and consolidated reporting outputs
- Contribute to audit readiness and compliance requirements
- Strengthen and evolve financial controls and governance
- Support pricing, promotions and performance analysis
- Drive improvements in reporting processes and data visibility
- Play a role in finance transformation and strategic initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- Strong experience in management accounting and financial reporting
- Understanding of IFRS/FRS102 and key accounting principles
- Experience with balance sheet control, reporting and analysis
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret trends and performance
- Confidence working across multiple stakeholders and functions
- Experience managing and developing team members
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities

Skills & Qualifications — Essential Ingredients:
- Education: A recognised finance qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with strong experience in management accounting, financial reporting and controls.
- Financial Expertise: Expertise across management reporting, balance sheet management, financial controls and revenue recognition, with the ability to deliver accurate and insightful outputs.
- Tools of the Trade: Highly proficient in Excel and comfortable using ERP systems (D365 preferred), with experience in data analysis and reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Problem‑solving: Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify trends, risks and respond proactively.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders, translating complex information into clear, actionable insights that support decision‑making.
- Continuous improvement mindset: Enthusiasm, resilience and a continuous improvement mindset, always looking to refine processes, enhance controls and support transformation across Finance.
Other Requirements: Travel may be required across the UK and occasionally abroad, with overnight stays. A full, clean UK driving licence is required.
Base Salary: £40,000 – £50,000, dependent on experience. This role does not include a bonus or car allowance.
