About the Role
Le Cordon Bleu London is now actively seeking to recruit experienced Pastry Chef/Lecturer to join their dynamic team at the Institute in central London. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside exceptional professionals. The prime role of the Pastry Chef Lecturer is to provide an excellent teaching experience for students and to support their learning journey. The teaching chef will also be responsible for supporting the teaching team with additional responsibilities to support the academic team.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for Teaching and Students
- ensure the best possible student experience through:
- deliver teaching when required in practical’s, demonstrations and technical
- the fulfillment of the school’s responsibilities concerning students in respect of their admission, instruction, progress and examination;
- the availability of pastoral assistance
- adherence to the regulations and procedures of the institute
- refreshes and develops new programmes in order to attract new students and markets
- Responsibility for Research
- ensure the highest levels of quality, integrity and ethics in all research undertaken
- create a dynamic and forward looking research environment for both staff and students
- Knowledge Transfer
- create and exploit new opportunities for knowledge transfer activity in order to secure additional income streams and new areas of teaching and/or research
- Contribute to institute-wide initiatives in order to improve understanding and communication of this area
- Health and safety, statutory Compliance
- ensure that the school’s HR policies and procedures are implemented
- engender a culture of excellence, co-operation and respect both within and beyond the department
- make effective use of all staffing resources and seek opportunities for collaboration and joint working with others beyond the department.
- ensure a safe and healthy environment for both staff and students, and full compliance with health and safety requirements
- Financial Management
- ensure that Le Cordon Bleu equipment/facilities under the department´s control are properly maintained and serviced as required
- Quality Assurance
- ensure all activities are carried out to the highest possible standards and put in place the necessary evaluation, monitoring and enhancement procedures to ensure both compliance and improvement: such procedures will include teaching, research and management of all resources
- comply with auditing, quality assurance and risk management procedures both internal and external.
- Development of Academic/Research Standing
- give due consideration to ways of retaining connections with other teaching organisations to ensure the school continues to be a market leader.
- give due consideration to the status of Teaching Chef both Patisserie and Cuisine as a role model for other members of staff in the pursuit of academic excellence
