The main purpose of the role is to deliver high-quality teaching sessions in food and beverage management. The person should have an in-depth understanding of food and beverage operations and substantial experience in delivering undergraduate taught modules. This is an hourly-paid role, and we offer a competitive package for the delivery of a Food and Beverage management module. The module is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2026, and it will be delivered in the evenings.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Teach in line with pre-agreed module content and learning outcomes set by the programme director.
- Apply current industry knowledge and professional expertise to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Ensure the module delivery complies with quality standards and regulations of the company.
- Use relevant learning technology (e.g., VLE such as Engage and a software related to Food and Beverage Management) to support student learning.
- Assess and mark coursework in accordance with the Institute’s assessment criteria.
- Deal with any module queries and ensure feedback is provided to students on performance in accordance with the Institute’s guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with the programme director to ensure consistency in content delivery and assessment.
- Ensure attendance at all learning and teaching opportunities by students is monitored as required and ensure coursework submission for the module is monitored.
Essential Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Food and Beverage Management, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- Professional experience in food and beverage operations.
- Teaching experience in higher or further education (desirable).
- A teaching qualification (e.g., FHEA, PGCert in HE).
