As a Kitchen Porter at Le Café NAC, you are the backbone of our kitchen operations. You will be responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and hygienic food preparation and washing areas, keeping equipment spotless, and supporting our chef team during busy service periods. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-energy environment, takes pride in keeping things organised, and wants to be part of a dynamic, design-led new restaurant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wash pots, pans, plates, glassware, and kitchen utensils quickly and efficiently using commercial dishwashers and hand-washing stations.
- Maintain clean, sanitised, and tidy work surfaces, walls, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift.
- Assist the kitchen team in receiving, inspecting, and neatly storing fresh produce and dry goods.
- Ensure kitchen stock, pots, and crockery are safely organised and readily available for chefs during service.
- Empty kitchen bins regularly, sort recycling properly, and ensure waste disposal areas are kept clean and hygienic.
- Work closely with chefs, kitchen runners, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter in a high-volume or premium hospitality environment is preferred, but a great attitude and strong work ethic are most important.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining spotless cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills and a reliable, team-first mindset.
- Able to remain calm, organized, and focused under pressure.
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
