As an experienced mechanic, the Head Technician will manage the technical team tasked with maintaining the boat fleet at an optimal level. Responsibilities include:
- Supervise corrective and preventive maintenance of boat engines, covering mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and laminating tasks.
- Inspect boat condition, ensuring the fleet sails in top shape.
- Manage workshop operations and maintain safety standards.
- Handle equipment, tools, diesel stock, boat supplies, and gas bottles.
- Assist the Base Manager in fleet management, planning, and sourcing spare parts.
- Supervise boat operation instructions for customers.
- Resolve technical issues during the season.
- Oversee winterizing and repair work during the off‑season.
- Ensure safety equipment is used by the team.
- Contribute to achieving base objectives.
- Lead day‑to‑day maintenance and support customers on call.
What We Are Looking For:
- Technical studies or hands‑on experience in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, water pumps, HVAC repair, or general maintenance.
- Previous boat maintenance experience.
- Ability to read and follow specifications and installation instructions.
- Knowledge of marine diesels and proficient systems.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Passion for boating.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Fluency in English plus French, Dutch, or German.
- Full eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
