We are seeking a talented and dedicated Junior Sous Chef to support our kitchen leadership team in maintaining the highest standards of food quality and kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen.
- Supervise and guide Commis Cooks and Chef de Partie to ensure consistency in food preparation and presentation.
- Prepare and cook dishes according to the restaurant's recipes, quality standards, and service expectations.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner during lunch and dinner service.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation to maintain fine dining standards.
- Assist in menu preparation, seasonal specials, and recipe development.
- Maintain inventory, monitor stock levels, and assist with ordering and receiving supplies.
- Ensure proper food storage, stock rotation (FIFO), and minimize food wastage.
- Enforce food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards at all times.
- Assist with training, coaching, and evaluating junior kitchen staff.
- Support kitchen scheduling and ensure smooth operations in the absence of senior chefs.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or senior kitchen role.
- Experience in French cuisine or fine dining is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of classical cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop junior team members.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
