About Us
Le Bistrot Du Sommelier is an award-winning French restaurant celebrated for its authentic French cuisine, carefully curated wine selection, and exceptional hospitality. We are looking for a passionate and motivated Commis Cook to join our kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from experienced chefs and develop your culinary skills in a professional fine dining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with the preparation and cooking of dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and standards.
- Prepare ingredients, including washing, cutting, peeling, marinating, and portioning.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations and equipment.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items following FIFO procedures.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Assist with receiving, checking, and storing deliveries.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or quality issues to the Chef.
- Support the kitchen team during lunch and dinner service to ensure timely food preparation.
- Assist with daily opening and closing duties.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or commercial kitchen is preferred, but fresh graduates from culinary schools are welcome to apply.
- Passion for cooking and a willingness to learn French cuisine and fine dining techniques.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work well in a team.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and workplace safety practices.
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
