Full-time, hybrid working

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Apprenticeship Skills Coach to join our friendly, supportive and successful Delivery Team. The Digital Learning Designer Level 5 is a relatively new apprenticeship standard, which was only approved in May 2023, so it is unlikely that the successful candidate for this role will have apprenticeship experience for this standard. Instead, we are looking for someone with a passion for digital learning, the theory of how people learn and a desire to pass this knowledge on to a new generation of learning designers.

This is an incredibly rewarding role as you will have the opportunity to help our learners complete their Level 5 Digital Learning Designer programme and achieve their career potential. You will support our apprentices to acquire and demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed, as well as offer advice and guidance throughout their learning journey. The role will be predominantly remote with at least one day a month at our South London office.

Responsibilities

  • Support your apprentices through the learning journey and deliver an outstanding learner experience through effective coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensure your apprentices are on track to complete their apprenticeship and take proactive steps to ensure timely achievement of all milestones.
  • Deliver regular coaching sessions and progress reviews for all apprentices and ensure that employers are up to date with apprentice progress.
  • Write and share accurate and timely progress reports for apprentices and employers.
  • Help develop and deliver the learning content and delivery model for the apprenticeship programme.
  • Work with other Skills Coaches to standardise and improve training.
  • Design and facilitate engaging and relevant apprentice training through group sessions including live sessions and in-person development days.
  • Be involved in coordinating the training activities delivered in partnership with our employers and industry experts.
  • Assess your apprentices' work and provide timely and developmental feedback.
  • Maintain regular and excellent communication with your learners and employers and manage your scheduled activities to ensure the timely achievement of learners.
  • Comply with any quality procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Build strong and lasting relationships with each of the apprentices and employers you support.
  • Provide additional pastoral support for apprentices as required.

Requirements

  • Experience in digital learning design theory and practice.
  • Previous work experience in digital learning design, with a good working knowledge of either academic or commercial learning design projects.
  • Experience in either teaching, coaching or education, and a keen interest in developing others.
  • Ideally hold the Level 3 qualification in Education and Training or equivalent.
  • Innovative mindset and the desire to learn and develop yourself and others, so that you can contribute to improving processes and the learner experience.
  • Knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards and End Point Assessments would be desirable.
  • Excellent coaching, mentoring and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, apprentices and key stakeholders.
  • Strong organisation skills, with the ability to deliver to deadlines and prioritise effectively.
  • Good IT skills, ability to use MS Office, Learner Management Systems, Salesforce etc.
  • Being a member of the Association of Learning Technologist, holding ACMALT or CMALT accreditation are advantageous, but not essential.
  • Flexible and understand the balance between being commercial and being compassionate.
  • A passion to help people start their careers at amazing companies, which inspires you to deliver the best possible training.
  • Demonstrates commitment to our values and expected behaviours.

Benefits

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • An extra day of holiday for every year of service for up to 3 years
  • Home working/ flexible working (you will be expected to come into the office at least once a month)
  • Receive a company Apple MacBook
  • Workplace pension with 4% employer's contribution
  • Buy additional holidays
  • Discretionary company wellbeing days
  • Funky Head Office near Vauxhall/ Stockwell with free tea and coffee
