Supplying multi-million-pound categories, you will be responsible for all insight coming in and out of the business with the aim of developing the category partnerships within multiple grocery accounts.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop actionable insights from a variety of data sources, to build category value driving plans with customers.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships across customers, becoming the category expert and therefore the go to partner for category insight, initiatives and range reviews.
- Ongoing tracking of category and customer performance using market data (e.g. Kantar), loyalty data (e.g., Dunnhumby) and the competitive landscape (e.g., store audits).
- Identify growth opportunities and develop key recommendations for our customers, suppliers and LDH.
- Use insights from data analysis to influence range and distribution.
- Strengthen relationships and engagement with regular meetings with our customers and suppliers.
- Manage relationships with external insight agencies.
- Manage all insight data that comes into LDH and improve data management systems where necessary.
Candidate Profile
- At least 3 years experience in Category Management within the FMCG industry, with good commercial awareness.
- Experience in Own Label food is preferable but not essential.
- Knowledge of retailers, notably Tesco, Asda and Waitrose are favourable.
- Comfortable working across a number of categories and customers, with previous customer facing experience essential.
- Proficient in using a variety of data analytical tools, ideally experience with Kantar, Tesco Dunnhumby, Waitrose Dunnhumby, Asda Quantium and retailer EPOS.
- Working knowledge of merchandising principles.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Able to navigate complexity, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects to a high standard.
- Experience of working within a growth mindset business, highly agile and solution focussed.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Educated to Higher Education level (University degree or other achieved a 2:1 or equivalent).
