About you: Responsible Sourcing – Human Rights & Environmental Sustainability must be your passion with a strong understanding of Ethical trade and Supply Chain due diligence. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development and implementation of LDH’s Responsible Sourcing Strategy across human rights, environment, and marine pillars.
- Function as the first point of contact for internal teams, suppliers, and customers on responsible sourcing topics.
- Build strategic relationships with key customers and provide regular updates on progress and compliance.
- Work cross‑functionally with Technical, Buying, Supply Chain, HR, Finance, and other internal teams to deliver strategic sustainability projects, ensuring data, documentation and reporting systems are accurate, structured, and well maintained.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to develop open, transparent, and trusting working relationships, ensuring clear understanding and delivery of LDH and customer requirements.
- Support suppliers to implement and manage their ethical audit programme and the development of their human rights due diligence controls.
- Oversee ethical audit performance, Sedex/SMETA compliance, NC closure, and supplier monitoring.
- Develop and manage advanced risk assessment frameworks, implementing seafood and agricultural risk tools.
- Conduct maturity assessments, gap analysis, and long‑term project planning.
- Use risk insights to shape remediation plans, supplier prioritisation, and strategic decision-making.
- Conduct targeted supplier visits based on risk assessments, including international travel where required.
- Present strategy, risks and progress to senior leaders, including C‑suite stakeholders.
- Maintain structured, transparent data systems for all Responsible Sourcing projects, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Support customer-facing teams in translating sustainability and due diligence data into clear, compelling communication.
- Support the development of LDH’s carbon strategy, including supplier engagement and improved data capture.
- Lead environmental initiatives such as food waste reporting and deforestation compliance.
- Implement due diligence to meet emerging legislation including the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
- Contribute to key reporting outputs such as the Modern Slavery Statement and customer sustainability disclosures (Secaro, 3Keel, Seafood Metrics, GTA).
- Represent LDH at industry forums (e.g., FNET, SEAA), sharing insights and strengthening LDH’s profile.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior responsible sourcing team members.
- Support the Technical Director with strategic development and ad‑hoc projects as required.
- Remain responsive to evolving customer, legislative and industry expectations.
