We are looking for an Industrial Designer to join our London studio.

For our London team, we're looking for talented Industrial Designer with a minimum of 3 years experience.

The team works on lighting elements for major architectural projects and to develop new products for commercial manufacture.

The role requires project leadership skills, creative thinking, design sensitivity and strong technical development and prototyping ability.

We are looking for people who can

  • Collaborate and manage lighting product design projects both internally and externally, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Work closely with the Architectural Lighting Design, BIM & Digital Delivery teams to develop contextually aware and highly creative solutions.
  • Prepare and develop from the brief, a design proposal and presentation by means of hand sketches, technical drawings, graphics, CAD models, working and presentation models.
  • Manage the product development lifecycle, from initial concept sketches to final product delivery, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Conduct research and monitor trends in product design, materials, and manufacturing.
  • Look towards the future of lighting technologies, user experience, and embedded technologies for Smart Cities applications.
  • Develop and manage the product development budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Champion sustainability and ethical design practices within the product development process.
  • Stay informed on industry advancements and consumer insights to continually refine and improve product offerings.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in Industrial Design and full cycle product development.
  • Experience with architectural lighting and urban furniture products.
  • Knowledge of lighting products and technologies, lighting performance characteristics and photometrics.
  • Knowledge of BIM systems and terminology.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing successful design projects.
  • Excellent understanding of design processes, from ideation to execution.
  • Creative, with a strong sense of design, innovation, and attention to detail.
  • In-depth knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
  • Proficient in design software, (e. g., Adobe Creative Suite, 2D and 3D software including Rhino3D, 3ds Max, Fusion360, Solidworks, etc.) professional visualisation and project management tools.
  • Experience of integrating AI tools within design workflows.
  • Great presentation and communication skills.
  • Comfortable with hybrid working.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
