We currently have a great opportunity for dedicated night support workers to work with an individual who has a learning disability, autism, EUPD (Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder), and diabetes, within the Oswestry area. We’re looking for positive, caring and proactive individuals to join a dedicated support team for a woman living in her own home. She lives life to the fullest and needs a team that will embrace her world and her way of doing things.
About the Person You’ll Be Supporting:
This is a woman who needs support from those around her to assist her in every aspect of daily living — from shopping and meal preparation, attending appointments, and maintaining her home environment. She lives with her dog, and an important part of the role is supporting her to care for and enjoy time with her dog. This includes assisting her with activities such as dog walks, feeding routines, and helping her safely engage in caring responsibilities as part of her daily life. Applicants should therefore be comfortable working in a home with animals and supporting pet-related activities. The individual is supported with learning disability, autism, EUPD, diabetes management, and mental health needs. While she can experience behaviours that challenge, she thrives when supported by people who understand her, remain consistent, and use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches. If you’re someone with a calm presence, emotional resilience, and a willingness to learn, this role is for you.
What You’ll Need:
- A genuine passion for supporting people to live their best lives
- Patience, empathy and great communication skills (verbal and non-verbal)
- Experience with PBS or a strong willingness to be trained
- A person-centred approach — always putting the individual first
- The ability to work as part of a consistent and committed team
- A full UK driving licence (essential)
- Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, or complex health conditions is desirable
- Knowledge with supporting health-related needs such as diabetes management (training provided)
What's in it for you:
- £250 when you introduce a Friend
- Great Pay
- Pension Enrolment
- Standard Sick Pay
- Free training
