We are currently recruiting Bank Female Support Workers to support an individual with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and Anorexia Nervosa within the Egremont area. Understand that these diagnoses do not define the individual.
We currently have a great opportunity for dedicated Female Support Workers to work with an individual who has Dissociative Identity Disorder and Anorexia Nervosa. The individual will be living on their own, so we are looking for Support Workers who can provide 360 wrap-around support that covers all aspects of her life throughout the day and night. In addition, Support Workers with mental health experience are preferred, as well as those who like animals and are fit and able to walk in excess of 6 miles per day as part of the daily routine.
Responsibilities:- Provide support during both the good times and the difficult periods our individual faces in daily life.
- Have a good understanding of mental health and complexities that arise with it, an understanding of Anorexia Nervosa, and how these can impact daily living.
- Understanding of Dissociative Identity Disorder.
- Be a positive advocate for the individual.
- Be consistent – do what you say you will, and if you can’t, explain why.
- Be prepared to motivate in a supportive manner.
- Be patient, understanding, and encouraging on the difficult days.
- Have a fun and kind personality and encourage activities.
- Work together to solve issues and overcome day-to-day tasks.
- Come to work to 'Get to know me', as that is what is needed to provide meaningful support and guidance in all aspects of everyday living.
- Work as part of a team that delivers amazing person-centred care.
