We are currently recruiting a Team Leader Support Worker to join our team supporting adults with needs in the Hyndburn area. Please note we are not a recruitment agency.
The Role
The ideal candidate will be confident working from their own initiative and able to adapt to changing needs. You will play a vital role in supporting clients with complex mental health needs, promoting independence, and facilitating meaningful community engagement. Consistency and reliability are essential. The service in Hyndburn is a supported living service for 4 individuals, each with their own self-contained apartment and core team. Primary diagnosis of mental health need, the individuals we support may also have:
- Personality Disorder including EUPD
- Self-harm and Suicidal ideation
Role Description – Duties
- Hands-on care, supporting the client with their daily routines, encouraging independence in all areas; this will be achieved via the management of the rota. You would be expected to cover shifts as a contingency. Working every other weekend.
- Supervise the care team, manage rotas and co-ordinate training based on learning needs.
- Conduct in-house Induction Training with new starters.
- Ensure outcomes of appointments are shared with the team and implemented in daily care routines.
- Write and update Risk Assessments in collaboration with the Service Manager.
- Ensure Risk Assessments are in place for all equipment used by Care Team in collaboration with Service Manager.
- Complete/collate timesheets and communicate with Service Manager and Payroll team.
- Organise equipment reviews and book maintenance and servicing for all devices; this would include reconciling the client’s finances and weekly fire checks as per Policy.
Experience and Skills Required
- Hands-on experience of supporting individuals with mental health.
- Experience as a Support Worker / Team Leader in a Supported Living Setting or Residential Home.
- Working in a family/private home.
- Excellent communication and teaching skills.
- Strong administrative and organisation skills.
- Computer literate and accurate record-keeping.
- Understanding and experience of PBS Practice.
- Able to lead by example.
- Time management.
- Able to stay calm in challenging situations.
- Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader, or similar leadership role.
- Strong experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs (essential).
- Highly driven, able to work independently, and confident in decision making.
- Must be active and energetic, as the client enjoys being out in the community.
- Experience with auditing processes to a reasonable level.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong person-centred focus.
- Willingness and ability to travel to Middlesbrough several times a week during transition.

Schedule
