Overview

LD Training Services Limited (LDT) works in collaborative partnership with Leeds Trinity University and the University of Suffolk. We have campuses in Stanmore (Head Office), Dudley, and Nottingham. LDT delivers a range of Business, Accountancy and Management degree courses with Foundation Year, in addition to IFA recognised Accountancy qualifications.

This is an exciting opportunity to join LD Training as an Academic Registrar. You will be responsible for managing academic student data, ensuring adherence to university partner rules, representing the academic team on compliance matters, overseeing timetables, and reporting data to the Office for Students (OfS) and the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) for student outcomes and other regulatory bodies as required to support the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Governance, administration of academic calendar, rules and regulations
  • Academic student data management, including reporting to OfS and HESA
  • Timetables and coordinating academic calendar, representing academic interests in meetings and discussions related to compliance

General Responsibilities

Academic Administration and Governance

  • Oversee the collection, maintenance, and accuracy of academic student data.
  • Ensure all student profiles are up-to-date and comply with institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Chair and represent on behalf of the organisation at assessment panels, committees and working groups as appropriate to support decision-making and effective implementation of policy, rules and regulations.
  • Implement data management best practices to ensure data integrity and security.

Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to all academic regulations and policies of partners, and regulatory bodies such as OfS.
  • Liaise with university partners/Regulatory bodies to stay informed about any changes in compliance requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with partner institutions\\\' rules and standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for compliance matters within the academic team.
  • Represent the academic team in meetings and discussions related to compliance.
  • Provide guidance and support to academic staff on compliance issues and best practices. Ensure student issues, i.e. mitigating circumstances, academic misconduct cases (AMCs), appeals and student disciplinary are arranged and conducted consistently in line with requirements.

Timetable and Academic Calendar

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of academic timetables, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure timetables are efficient, meet the needs of students and staff, and comply with institutional policies.
  • Coordinate with academic and administrative staff to resolve any scheduling conflicts.

Academic Reporting

  • Responsible for accuracy, integrity and quality of student profiles and data to enable planning and strategic development.

Data

  • Collect, analyse and report data to the Office for Students and the Higher Education Statistics Agency on student outcomes.
  • Report on LDT’s B3 condition outcomes in comparison to benchmarks.
  • Ensure all reports are accurate, timely and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed about changes in reporting requirements and adjust processes accordingly.

Person Specification

  • Educated to Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or proven professional work experience.

Computer Literacy

  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Polite, helpful and confident manner.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Virtual Learning Environments such as Moodle, Brightspace etc.

Key Skills

  • Previous experience of working with HE governance/Academic Registrar role, compliance and university partner regulations. Knowledge of academic misconduct and appeals.
  • Effective networking and negotiating skills.
  • Understanding of Office for Students (indicators and benchmarks) and HESA (data requirements).
