Job Overview

MYA requires an experienced, committed, and innovative Detached Youth Worker who brings creativity, energy and strong youth engagement skills to supporting young people's development. The post holder will engage and build respectful, honest, challenging, and supportive relationships with young people including those who may previously have had little contact with services and may be hard to reach. The successful applicant will be able to co-design programmes with and for young people who present with complex issues and behaviours which may include anti-social behaviour, substance misuse, offending and significant risk taking. The Detached Youth Work Team will deliver innovative programmes of detached and outreach youth work and will meet the needs of children, young people and families, facilitating the development of physical health, emotional well-being, supporting educational attainment, and preventing/reducing youth crime.

The post holder must hold relevant qualification to at least NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a subject related to young people.
