LCVR (Local Car & Van Rental) is one of the UK's largest independent suppliers of new cars and vans to local and national rental businesses. Operating from our head office in Princes Risborough, we primarily supply rental vehicles to independent rental companies, nationwide, on flexible leasing and short term rental programmes. Backed by our dedicated vehicle logistic sister company, Local Vehicle Transport (LVT), we pride ourselves on exceptional product availability, service transparency and quality support.
The Defleet Vehicle Inspector is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Midlands, responsible for assessing vehicles at the end of their rental term to ensure they meet company and industry standards. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Reviewing vehicle condition reports and estimates with key suppliers and agents to agree the most appropriate method of repair and parts required to achieve the return vehicle standard.
- Conducting detailed interior and exterior inspections to ensure damage is accurately recorded on inspection reports and digital systems.
- Liaising with end users to ensure arbitrated estimates are presented, authorised and invoiced in a timely fashion.
This position requires adherence to safety and compliance guidelines while working efficiently in a fast-paced, fleet-focused environment.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of Vehicle Repair processes, including basic mechanical & body repair techniques.
- Effective Communication skills, with a focus on clear reporting and coordination with colleagues and other stakeholders to support Customer Satisfaction.
- Previous experience in automotive, rental, or fleet operations is preferred, especially in inspection or quality control roles.
- Ability to use digital tools or fleet management systems to record inspections and update vehicle status accurately.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and confidence in safely operating a variety of cars and vans.
- Organized, reliable, and able to work independently while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
