About LCMB: LCMB is a specialist building performance consultancy advising high-profile organisations on estates strategy, FM transformation, net zero delivery and major capital programmes. We are looking for a consultant with experience across Hard and Soft FM who wants to apply their operational knowledge in a client-side, advisory environment. You will support the delivery of commissions across a wide range of organisations and estates, gaining exposure to different service models, building types and operational challenges. You will work closely with senior colleagues to act as the client’s adviser and you will need to demonstrate a clear understanding of how FM works in a live environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The role: You will support senior consultants in advising clients on how integrated FM services should be structured, procured and improved. You will take ownership of defined workstreams and develop into a trusted adviser through delivery, analysis and direct client engagement. Your time will be split between the office, home working and client sites, depending on project requirements.
Your work will include:
- Supporting reviews of Hard FM, Soft FM and total FM service delivery.
- Assisting with engineering compliance and asset performance baselines.
- Analysing Soft FM service performance, cost and workplace outcomes.
- Contributing to FM operating model and service integration design.
- Supporting procurement, contract packaging and mobilisation.
- Developing improvement plans that are practical in live environments.
Alongside delivery, you will identify opportunities to add further value for clients and contribute to proposals for follow‑on work.
What you will be doing:
- Delivering defined work packages within larger commissions.
- Interrogating asset, service and contract data.
- Producing clear, evidence‑based reports and recommendations.
- Supporting client workshops and stakeholder engagement.
- Working with service providers and client teams to test solutions.
- Identifying opportunities to improve service quality, efficiency and user experience.
- Contributing to proposals, scope definition and fee development.
About you:
You will be able to demonstrate:
- Practical exposure to both Hard FM and Soft FM services.
- Around five years’ experience in FM, estates or a related environment.
- An understanding of how integrated FM services are delivered in operational buildings.
- Experience working with compliance, assets, contracts or service performance.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
- The ability to translate operational and technical information into clear written outputs.
- Confidence working with operational teams, service partners and client stakeholders.
- A genuine interest in developing a career in FM consultancy.
You will hold a relevant degree or be able to demonstrate equivalent practical experience. Professional membership would give you an advantage.
Why this role is different:
You will gain experience across multiple clients and sectors rather than working within a single operational environment. You will be part of a consultancy team with the opportunity to learn directly from experienced senior advisers and take on increasing responsibility for defined outputs. You will see your work move from analysis into implementation in live environments.
How to apply:
Please apply via LinkedIn or send your CV and a short cover note outlining your relevant experience and salary expectations. If you would prefer an informal conversation before applying, you are welcome to get in touch. Direct applications only – we are not engaging recruitment agencies for this role.
