Located in Lancaster, SC, LCI-Lineberger Construction Inc. is a heavy highway and civil construction firm operating in North and South Carolina. We specialize in asphalt paving, reclamation, grading and site development, utilities and trucking services. We are currently seeking an experienced, construction industry professional to join our Estimating and Project Management Team.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, understand and review construction plans and specifications
- Assess site exposures/construction risks and be able to appropriately analyze cost
- Produce accurate estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings resulting in competitive pricing of labor, equipment and material costs
- Work independently to prepare complete project estimates using HCSS software technology
- Ensure that all estimate deadlines are met and project take-offs completed as scheduled in advance of bid due dates
- Demonstrate knowledge of construction assemblies and all project phases
- Monitor all areas of day-to-day project activities, including adherence to budgetary guidelines while ensuring quality and safety standards
- Communicate project progress with company management, contractors, subcontractors and vendors to ensure effective scheduling of resources to maintain planned completion dates
- Make site inspections to verify manpower, work quantities and quality meet required standards
Position Requirements
- B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in estimating or office/field engineer
- Experience working for a general contractor engaged in DOT or heavy highway projects
- Working knowledge of construction assemblies and all project phases
- HCSS or similar estimating software technology preferred
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
- Strong verbal and communication skills
