- Support the client in getting out and about in the community and taking part in activities that he is interested in.
- Encourage the client to make simple choices and express preferences for likes or dislikes.
- Follow short, simple instructions given to the client.
- Use routine tasks (e.g. complete A first, then B) to manage limited understanding of time.
- Prompt the client to eat and drink, use the toilets, and wash hands as needed.
- Provide support to maintain routine and prevent anxiety or challenging behaviours.
The client will often reply yes to questions without fully considering the response.
Client Profile:
- Diagnosis: Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, moderate learning disability, emotional/behavioural disorder, and anxiety.
- Communication: Good verbal communication; can speak in and understand sentences; engages with others, but limited awareness of dangers posed by strangers. Dysfluency may result in repeating words/phrases.
- Moving and Handling: Does not have mobility difficulties.
- Pets: No pets.
- Client enjoys: football, music, dancing, and golf with his dad.
- Transport: PA will require their own transport, with a full clean license. Mileage will be paid.
