We are currently instructed by a leading global law firm to recruit a Legal Director – Property Damage to join its Commercial Insurance team based in Manchester.
Location: Manchester (hybrid working available)
Salary: Competitive, with an attractive benefits package
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and highly regarded Commercial Insurance team, acting for a prestigious client base on a broad range of complex insurance disputes. The caseload will include first party and third party property damage, product liability, policy coverage, and subrogated recoveries.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of property-related insurance claims
- Delivering work in line with client requirements, service level agreements, and best practice
- Analysing legal and commercial risk and providing clear, well-reasoned advice
- Effectively prioritising work to maximise efficiency
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- A minimum of 5 years’ PQE with a strong focus on property damage work
- Experience handling insurance-related disputes, including third party property damage, product liability, policy coverage, and subrogated recoveries
- Strong technical expertise within Commercial Insurance
- A proven ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
Desirable:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex issues clearly to a range of stakeholders
- A proactive approach, with experience supporting or developing junior colleagues
