A leading international law firm is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its highly regarded Private Wealth team in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing team advising high-net-worth individuals, families, trustees and businesses on a broad range of private client matters, both within the UK and internationally.
The Opportunity
Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will advise clients on a wide variety of private wealth matters, including succession planning, tax-efficient structuring, trust creation and administration, estate planning, and probate. The team also has a strong international focus, advising on residence and domicile planning, as well as inbound and outbound wealth structuring.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising clients on estate and asset protection planning
- Drafting wills, including complex and tax-efficient wills incorporating trusts
- Establishing and advising on onshore trusts
- Managing probate matters and estate administration
- Advising on powers of attorney and capacity-related issues
- Handling Court of Protection matters
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, delivering practical and commercially focused advice
- Supervising, mentoring and developing junior members of the team
- Contributing to business development, networking and marketing initiatives
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with at least 6 years' PQE in private client work
- Be a STEP member or actively working towards a STEP qualification
- Possess strong technical expertise across a broad range of private wealth matters
- Have experience managing client relationships and running matters with a high degree of autonomy
- Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and a client-centric approach
- Have an interest in business development and helping to grow client relationships
- Thrive in a collaborative team environment and enjoy mentoring junior colleagues
