A leading international law firm is seeking an Associate to join its highly regarded Insurance Disputes team in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established practice acting for a diverse portfolio of global insurers, advising on complex and high-value disputes across a range of insurance classes. You'll work alongside experienced practitioners, gaining exposure to litigation, arbitration, mediation and strategic policy advice.

As part of a collaborative and growing team, you will advise insurer clients on a broad range of contentious matters, providing comprehensive claims resolution and coverage advice across domestic and international disputes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on insurance coverage, policy interpretation and liability disputes
  • Managing insurance and personal injury claims through litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution processes
  • Handling both claimant and defendant matters, including subrogated recovery actions
  • Advising on contractual issues arising from insurance disputes and supporting wider civil litigation matters where required
  • Managing cases from inception through to resolution, ensuring compliance with procedural and regulatory requirements
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, attending meetings and providing commercially focused advice
  • Contributing to business development and marketing initiatives across the team

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
  • Have experience within insurance disputes, commercial litigation or a related dispute resolution discipline
  • Possess strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to manage matters with increasing autonomy
  • Demonstrate excellent client relationship and communication skills
  • Be commercially aware and capable of delivering pragmatic, client-focused advice
  • Enjoy working collaboratively within a supportive and high-performing team environment
