An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Associate to join the firm's Residential Property Litigation team. Based in Manchester, the successful candidate will work on a varied caseload of contentious residential property matters, advising clients on complex disputes and providing strategic, commercially focused solutions.
Responsibilities- Manage a broad range of residential property litigation matters, including landlord and tenant disputes, possession claims, leasehold disputes, service charge challenges, boundary disputes, rights of way issues, and property ownership disputes.
- Advise landlords, developers, housing associations, managing agents, and private clients on contentious residential property matters.
- Handle cases through all stages of the litigation process, including pre-action strategy, negotiation, mediation, and court proceedings.
- Draft and review legal documentation, pleadings, witness statements, settlement agreements, and correspondence.
- Provide pragmatic and commercially focused advice on litigation risk, dispute resolution strategies, and potential outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering an exceptional standard of client service.
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior members of the team, contributing to their professional development.
- Play an active role in business development initiatives, networking activities, and the continued growth of the Residential Property Litigation practice.
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with significant experience in residential property litigation.
- Strong technical expertise across a broad range of contentious residential property matters.
- Experience managing complex and high-value disputes with minimal supervision.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Commercially aware with the ability to deliver practical and strategic advice.
- Strong client relationship management skills and a proactive approach to business development.
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers would be advantageous.
