A leading and highly regarded law firm in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to join its established and growing employment team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to work with a diverse client base and handle a broad range of employment matters within a supportive and collaborative environment. This role offers exposure to both contentious and non-contentious employment work, advising a wide range of organisations across multiple sectors including commercial businesses, public sector bodies and education institutions. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting clients with complex employment issues while contributing to the ongoing growth of the team. You will work closely with senior lawyers and partners on high-quality matters, while also managing your own caseload and developing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising clients on a broad range of employment law matters
- Handling Employment Tribunal claims and disputes
- Providing day-to-day employment law advice to employer clients
- Supporting senior lawyers on complex or strategic matters
- Delivering client training sessions, workshops and legal updates
- Contributing to business development initiatives and networking activities
- Supervising and mentoring junior members of the team where appropriate
About You
The firm is looking for a motivated and commercially minded solicitor who enjoys building strong client relationships and working collaboratively. You will ideally have:
- 3+ years’ PQE in employment law gained within a reputable firm or in-house environment
- Experience advising employer clients on a variety of employment matters
- Exposure to Employment Tribunal litigation
- Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills
- The ability to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively
- A proactive approach to client service and business development
- Experience advising larger organisations or institutions would be advantageous, though not essential.
