L & C Consulting are recruiting with a small, but rapidly growing business on the outskirts of Shrewsbury for a new Transport Manager. This brand new, hands-on, transport/logistics/planning focused role will suit an experienced Transport/Planning & Logistics Manager who is looking for a role with a well-established, family-owned, financially secure business.
Duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Allocate customer orders and plan relevant, cost-effective routes
- Various admin duties including producing delivery notes, scanning, updating CRM etc
- Driver de-briefs/checking timesheets etc
- Manage fleet and drivers
- Communicate with customers
- Cost management
- Manage parts and workshop/maintenance
To be considered for this opportunity, you MUST have a proven background in transport/logistics/planning-based roles. You will ideally hold a Transport Management CPC and also a valid HGV 1 licence for cover. You’ll have a stable work history, be well organised, be IT literate and have excellent communication skills.
Hours of work are 08:00 – 17:00, Monday – Friday, with some flexibility required. The Shrewsbury site is accessible from parts of Telford and is also commutable from Welshpool, Oswestry, Bridgnorth etc.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.
