The Role
Due to continued expansion, a leading events production house is seeking a versatile Junior Event Production Technician to join their growing team. Based at our Shropshire hub, you will work on an exciting portfolio of projects for industry-leading clients across the Technology, Fashion, and Drinks sectors. You will ideally have a background in lighting, AV etc - whether it be educational or practical - we want to hear from you!
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that requires a self-motivated individual who thrives under pressure. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality production for a wide variety of live, virtual, and hybrid events.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Execution: Lead as Site Technician during live events, overseeing the setup, testing, operation, and strike of sound, lighting, and power systems.
- Technical Operation: Programme and operate lighting consoles, mix live audio for performers/DJs, and manage power distribution.
- Warehouse Management: Prepare, test, and maintain technical equipment before dispatch and upon return.
- Maintenance: Oversee the lifecycle management of technical assets, ensuring all gear is flight-ready and safe.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure H&S standards are met on every build, staying up to date with rigging and power regulations (BS7909).
- Logistics: Support event logistics by delivering and collecting equipment using company vehicles.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: A minimum of 5+ years in the live events industry, including at least 3 years as a lighting engineer within the corporate sector.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep proficiency in intelligent lighting, LED technology, sound, rigging, and power systems.
- Flexibility: This is not a 9-5 role. You must be willing to work weekends, evenings, and occasionally overnight on event sites.
- Physicality: You must be physically fit and capable of manual handling (lifting up to 25kg) and working at heights.
- Licence: A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
Desirable Skills:
- BS7909 Qualification.
- Industry tickets (Plant, H&S, First Aid).
- Knowledge of CAD software.
