We are looking for an experienced professional to join our Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director. This role is pivotal in guiding LBMA towards sustainable success and comprises:
- a 3-year term, with potential extension.
- 1-2 days per month, flexible approach required.
- £35,000 per annum, plus travel expenses.

As an iNED , you will act as an unbiased, objective and impartial member of the Board, ensuring that all decisions taken are in the best long-term interests of LBMA, Members of the London Bullion Market and LBMA employees.
You will bring to the role your experience in Corporate Governance, financial affairs, organisation development and risk management. You will have the opportunity to showcase your excellent communication and networking abilities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- To act as a member of the Board of Directors, offering guidance, support, expertise and an objective perspective to the Executive on the key matters of strategy.
- To play a key part in the decision-making process on strategic issues.
- To ensure that the organisation has a robust, workable and viable strategy for developing Market Services.
- To be a member of the panels for the recruitment to key roles within the company, including other appointments to the Board.
- To act as Chair of the Remuneration Committee (RemCo) and be a Member of the Finance Committee. To be a Member of any other key Board Sub-Committees as required.
- To attend 6-7 formal Board meetings a year, as well as other ad hoc meetings as required.
- To act as a consultant to and mentor for the Executive Board members, in so far as this does not compromise the independence of the Independent Non-Executive Director.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Good knowledge of Corporate Governance and Board responsibilities (including being accustomed to a high level of accountability), management, organisational structure and development, commercial and financial affairs, and risk management.
- Excellent communication, relationship and networking skills, able to represent LBMA to stakeholders.
