Ashcroft Technology Academy (ATA) is looking to appoint Teaching and Learning Assistants (TLAs) to support teaching provision for students with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) or Special Educational Needs. The Academy is recognised for providing an exceptional quality of education, behaviour, and achievement.
The successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. They will provide flexible support to students with Education Health and Care Plans and ensure that learners with special needs have full access to the National Curriculum.
Applicants are expected to have good literacy/numeracy skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Excellent personal organisation and ICT skills are essential, along with the ability to liaise confidently with staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to raise student achievement. An ability to identify barriers to student learning and develop ways of overcoming these is crucial.
There may also be opportunities for applicants with subject-specific expertise, relevant qualifications, or a particular academic interest to focus their support within certain curriculum areas.
All posts are 36½ hours per week for 40 weeks per year, although part-time working may also be considered. Some flexibility in working hours will be required, including supporting a few evening meetings during the academic year.
If you would like to be a part of this team, further details and an application form are available from our website or by telephone. You should complete the application form electronically and email it to recruitment@ashcroftacademy.org.uk to arrive no later than noon on Monday 22 June 2026. Interviews will take place soon after the closing date.
All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS clearance. ATA safeguards children and actively promotes their welfare. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. ATA is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from minority groups and also has full disabled access.
