Learning Support Assistant and Midday Meal Supervisor
To work with named pupils with EHCPs
£23,854.68 actual pay TTO (pro rata) per annum
32.5 hours per week LSA (8.30am – 3.30pm)
(half hour unpaid lunch break)
Term time only (39 weeks)

We are seeking to appoint a strong and adaptable SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work with pupils with an Education, Health and Care plan and to fulfil the role of a midday meal supervisor. You must possess excellent literacy and numeracy skills, as well as a solid understanding of early reading and phonics. In addition, a working knowledge of how to support pupils with language and communication difficulties, social communication, cognition and learning and social skills is essential. You would be working under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
Responsibilities
- Support children’s learning and development, help to plan and organise activities and the learning environment, and contribute to the overall ethos of the school.
- Participate in training and other learning activities as necessary and undertake first aid training.
- Support children with SEN in a mainstream educational setting and demonstrate knowledge/understanding of their needs.
- Work flexibly as part of a team and alongside individuals and groups of pupils in class and on the playground.
- Deliver interventions and support pupils with additional needs.
- Follow all school policies, in particular Safeguarding, Behaviour and KCSIE.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience of working with children with SEN is desirable and experience in a mainstream educational setting.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge/understanding of the needs of pupils described above.
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills and a solid understanding of early reading and phonics.
