Are you an experienced Occupational Health professional looking for your next role in a supportive, highly valued in-house service? Join our Occupational Health team as a Senior Occupational Health Practitioner where you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, responsive and proactive occupational health and wellbeing services across the Joint Council and schools in the Borough of Wandsworth.
In this senior role, you will support the Occupational Health Manager and provide trusted professional advice that helps employees remain well and safe. You will use your occupational health expertise to understand individual needs, recommend practical workplace adjustments where appropriate, and contribute to positive outcomes for employees, managers and services.
About the role
You will manage a varied occupational health casework portfolio, with a significant focus on complex case management. This will include advising on health at work, work-related support, reasonable adjustments, rehabilitation and return-to-work planning across a broad range of physical and mental health needs.
Working collaboratively with managers, HR colleagues, schools and employees, you will provide clear, balanced and practical advice that supports wellbeing while helping services make informed decisions. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the wider Occupational Health offer, including proactive health and wellbeing initiatives that strengthen the support available to our workforce.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of the principles governing occupational health and health and safety at work
- Post qualification experience in all Occupational Health practices.
- Extensive experience in case work, in relation to sickness absence, disability and advising on reasonable adjustments.
- Effective oral and written communication skills for dealing with difficult customers and writing reports.
- Ability to be able to work and communicate effectively within a small team, including the supervision of the work of administrative support staff.
- Registered General Nurse with OH Certificate, Diploma or Degree - Part 3 on NMC Register
