About the Role

As an HR Business Partner, you will be a trusted adviser and strategic partner to senior leaders, helping them think bigger about their workforce, plan with confidence and lead change well. You will bring energy, professional judgement and practical solutions to a varied portfolio, supporting workforce planning, organisational design, employee relations, leadership, culture and performance.

In this role, you will:

  • Work directly with Directors and senior managers to shape ambitious workforce and people plans.
  • Lead strategic workforce planning, organisational design and transformation activity that has visible impact.
  • Turn workforce data and organisational insight into clear, practical recommendations for action.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters and organisational change programmes.
  • Build strong, constructive relationships with trade unions, stakeholders and corporate colleagues.
  • Champion equality, diversity and inclusion and help create inclusive, high-performing workplaces.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of our HR service and wider organisational priorities.

About You

We are looking for a confident, curious and politically aware HR professional who can operate at senior levels, ask the right questions and influence decisions that shape services and outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Significant experience within a large, complex organisation providing senior HR advice and support.
  • A strong track record of leading or supporting organisational change and transformation programmes.
  • Extensive experience of managing complex employee relations issues and employment law challenges.
  • The ability to analyse workforce data and translate insight into practical recommendations.
  • Excellent relationship-building, influencing and communication skills.
  • Experience of working constructively with trade unions and employee representatives.
  • A passion for delivering excellent public services and developing inclusive working environments.

Essential Qualifications

  • Chartered Member of CIPD (or willingness to study towards membership).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and maintaining current HR knowledge and expertise.
