To train as a mechanical engineering apprentice technician; to undertake a structured training program of academic study and workshop practical phase tests in order to gain the required skills and knowledge to support the company’s future machining requirements of a world‑leading sub‑sea valve manufacturer.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Observing, learning and understanding a wide range of engineering skills and processes while under the instruction of skilled technical staff.
  • Demonstrating these skills and processes as the training period progresses by working independently, increasing your overall contribution to the department.
  • Learning and understanding the importance of Health and safety within the workplace and your role in achieving this.
  • Maintaining a logbook over the duration of the apprenticeship period, recording projects that have been undertaken and the skills learned.
  • Developing the skills to manufacture components from work instructions and drawings, achieving the necessary precision.
