Key Accountabilities:
- Carry out inspection and preventative maintenance of key equipment in line with the Kingfisher Certified Utilities register and LBB management control procedures.
- Perform routine machinery inspections and maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns and malfunctions.
- Support the installation of new machinery and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Understand heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
- General facilities maintenance including plumbing, pipe fitting, compressed air systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems; fitting, fault finding & repair.
- Mechanical fault finding and repair of pumps, compressors, fans & rotating machinery.
- Provide input into the development of preventative maintenance strategies.
- Document all maintenance work for record-keeping purposes.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimise performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Carry out routine maintenance work (reactive and PPMs) on machine tool equipment.
- Maintain machines within the manufacturing cell, which includes CNC machinery (e.g. grinding, milling and turning machines).
- Produce monthly reports for senior management, summarising key action points for maintenance and service work.
- Undertake any additional, reasonable and appropriate duties as required from time-to-time, taking into account relevant qualifications, knowledge and experience.
- This role may require out of hours working as necessary for emergency call-outs and planned production management activities.
Expertise:
- Mechanical maintenance qualification and experience in electrical maintenance.
- Experience working on control panels, emergency stops circuits and 415 motors.
- Experience with Inspection and testing 2391 (a benefit but not essential).
- Experience of machine tool service and maintenance techniques.
- A strong understanding of CNC metal cutting machinery of varying ages.
- Ability to deal with conflicting manufacturing requirements speedily, devising repair schedules to resolve machine breakdowns.
- Trained and licenced for the use of access equipment, scaffold towers, fork lift trucks (preferably PASMA/PAL certified and fork lift licence holder).
- PAT Testing Qualification City & Guilds 2377 – Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.
- Ideally trained to the latest 17th edition wiring regulations (a benefit, not essential).
- Able to adapt to continuously changing priorities in a time-led production environment.
- An awareness of PUWER, LOLER and COSHH.
- Preferably have a forklift licence and PA test C&G 2377.
