About Laz Partners Founded in 2018, Laz Partners has grown into one of the go-to search firms for front-office global macro, credit, and private debt investment talent. We work in close partnership with several of the world’s most well-respected alternative investment managers, traditional asset managers, hedge funds, and sell-side institutions, usually on an exclusive or retained basis. Our reputation is built on discretion, precision, deep market knowledge, and a consultative approach that consistently delivers results in complex and competitive segments of the market.
The Opportunity We are looking to hire experienced consultants (Associates/Senior Associates) for both our macro desk and credit (public & private) desk, as we grow the business. Depending on background and experience, you will work closely with the founder and broader team to deliver on searches end-to-end or drive business development & client relationship management. There will be a flow of active mandates to deliver on, however you will be expected to take ownership of your specific asset class/strategy and help drive the business forward in line with our growth strategy. We are ideally looking for candidates with a combination of market knowledge (macro fixed income or public credit/private credit), professionalism, and drive, and who are genuinely interested in building long-term relationships with both clients and candidates.
This opportunity could suit someone who is:
- An experienced executive search or financial markets recruitment professional with a track record of placing front-office investment talent
- A commercially driven individual from a sales or business development background, who has built and managed relationships with buy-side or sell-side investment professionals within one of our practice areas
The successful hire could be focused on:
- Candidate delivery and search execution, managing end-to-end recruitment processes for live mandates;
- Business development and account management, expanding coverage across key macro-focused firms;
- Or a hybrid of both, depending on skillset.
We offer a strong platform with an existing client base, exclusive & retained searches, and significant market credibility - giving the right individual the ability to make an immediate impact.
Our core priorities from a hiring perspective:
- Macro Research & Strategy (candidate delivery & search execution)
- Macro Portfolio Management, Trading, and Exec hires (candidate delivery & search execution)
- Private Credit/Structured Credit (candidate delivery & search execution)
- Macro Portfolio Management, Trading, and Exec hires (business development/account management)
Key Requirements We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- 2–5+ years’ experience in 1) executive search or front-office recruitment in financial services or 2) sales, relationship management, or client-facing roles with a buy-side client base (e.g. selling research or software to CIOs, Portfolio Managers, Heads of Research at hedge funds, asset managers, sovereign wealth funds)
- A demonstrable track record of running searches end-to-end OR developing a client lead into a revenue-generating client with a disciplined, methodical approach
- A consultative approach with a long-term relationship building mindset, as opposed to a shorter-term transactional mindset
- Relevant market knowledge of your particular focus area, including key industry players/firms/teams (buy-side and sell-side), market trends, and market terminology
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with excellent professional judgement
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple complex mandates simultaneously
- Commercially astute, proactive, and motivated by delivering outstanding results
Benefits
- 25 days of holiday per year
- Company Pension Scheme
- Access to Perks at Work, offering discounts across major retail and lifestyle brands
- Comprehensive Health Insurance
- Cycle to work scheme
