About the Role
Laytons is seeking an experienced Senior Trade Mark & Designs Formalities Administrator to join its busy team. The role involves providing key support to the Director of Trade Marks and managing a varied caseload. This is a part-time role, working three days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling UK, EUIPO and WIPO prosecution (and abroad via overseas agents), renewals, deadlines docketing and management
- Dealing with formalities associated with trademark and design applications
- Preparing and filing UK and International trademark and design applications
- Liaising with overseas agents and assisting with the preparation of documentation
- Assisting the team with other trademark and design formalities duties as may be required
- Ensuring that all matters adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including anti-money laundering (AML) and compliance procedures where appropriate
- Understanding the importance of time recording and ensuring time recording is completed on a timely basis
Skills and Experience Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential, ideally from 4 years’ experience+ as a guideline
- Experience of WebTMS is preferable
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good team player with a collegiate and collaborative approach
- Able to plan workloads and resources effectively, work to deadlines and prioritise tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Good IT skills with ability to use case management systems
- Proactive approach and ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Strong IT skills with ability to use Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) and bundling software
- Able to use case management systems
