Salary: £19,800 per annum pro rata (£33,000 FTE)

Location: Laytons ETL, London (hybrid working available)

Working pattern: Part-time, 3 days per week

About the role

Laytons is seeking a Paralegal to join its busy Employment team, with further growth anticipated over the coming year. The Employment team handles a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters, with a good balance of Respondent and Claimant work, advising international and national corporate clients as well as high net worth individuals. The Paralegal will provide legal administrative support to Partners and other team members across a wide range of matters.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing legal administrative support on a wide range of Employment matters and case management tasks
  • Assisting with preparing for disputes and hearings, including bundle preparation, diarising deadlines and maintaining an up to date tribunal hearing spreadsheet
  • Supporting with file opening, organisation and management, maintaining accurate records
  • Drafting and preparing legal documents and standard communications
  • Conducting legal research as and when required
  • Assisting with the preparation of client presentations and seminars held in person and online, managing attendance and maintaining client lists
  • Liaising with clients professionally and dealing with correspondence
  • Assisting with billing procedures, time recording and departmental support as required
  • Ensuring all matters adhere to legal and regulatory requirements including AML and compliance procedures

What you'll bring

  • Previous experience providing professional administrative support in a law firm β€” highly advantageous
  • High standard of legal drafting skills
  • A law degree (LLB) β€” highly desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), bundling software and case management systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to work independently and to strict deadlines
