Position Overview
This is a hands‑on role, and you will be part of the team that assembles and builds electrical control panels, enclosures, and interconnecting cables for special purpose equipment. The role requires attention to detail as well as knowledge and understanding of electrical / electronic components, terminations, crimping, cabling and the ability to work with wiring drawings / schematics and able to wire to a very high manufacturing standard. Training will be provided to cover specific needs of the role and where there is a need to support installation work at a customer’s site, the team member must be willing to travel and represent the company in a professional manner.
Responsibilities
- The Prototype Wire Person shall be responsible for day‑to‑day Electro‑Mechanical wiring, and assembly.
- Building sub‑assemblies, and complete systems to drawings as per build procedures.
- Ability to read electrical / electronic drawings, and work accurately to electronic procedures.
- Build electrical control panel / enclosures from scratch including mechanical assembly.
- Drill, tap, and fit panel internal components such as relays, terminal blocks, and power supplies.
- Electrical crimping, soldering, wiring, and looming of control panel to a high standard.
- To assemble cables including cable crimping on various types of connectors, cable terminating, looming, and labelling to requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience of panel wiring and machine wiring.
- Demonstrate a basic electrical knowledge, and able to read, and work with schematics, and general engineering drawings.
- Able to wire control panels / boxes, including crimping, soldering to high standard, and terminating.
- Experience of electrical loom harnessing, and soldering to a high standard.
- Demonstrable ability to work both independently, and as part of the team.
- Conduct accurate logical decision making, and problem‑solving skills.
