Operation & Business Development Manager, responsible and competent to establish, drive and enforce GDP related operations as delivered by this growing logistics business. The operations side of the role leads and controls all required measures to achieve operational excellence and compliance to the Management System Manual. The business development side of the role, acting as the business specialist, supports and accompanies not only sales and marketing activities, but also continuous improvement projects to the benefit of the company and its customers.

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that all operational activities are executed in compliance with labour law rules, environmental protection, and GDP regulations.
  • Collaborates with and guides the operational teams of the company or any other logistics partners to drive continuous system and operational improvements that help improve customer satisfaction.
  • Monitors and analyses operational and financial performance of the transport operation.
  • Supports regular preparation of progress reports and KPI metrics to ensure high standard of delivery performance and measurability of continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for the analysis of complex problem cases, as well as developing actions or recommendations to assure sustainable elimination and avoidance.
  • Responsible for building strategic and contractual relationships with logistics partners, subcontractors, and carriers.
  • Developing trust relationships with existing and potential clients through understanding key customer needs and requirements.
  • IATA/ADR Dangerous Goods certificates, CAA certificates are a plus.
  • Provide competent and solution-based Customer Relationship in compliance with the company Group conduct of business and QM System.
  • Act as a contact of competence for Healthcare/Pharma customers and ensure that all transport operations are conducted in line with GDP.
  • Develop an understanding of market developments in the healthcare/pharma industry, customer’s needs and regulatory authorities.
  • Propose measures to stay ahead of such development to ensure that future customer and regulatory needs are fulfilled.
  • Ensure that GDP standards are respected across the team.
  • Support business sustainability and look for business development for the pharma business segment of the company worldwide.

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field or equivalent working experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in account and operational management in Pharma logistics, proven experience in forwarding, shipping or airline industry, or international logistics customer service.
  • Thorough GxP knowledge with proven track record.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven leadership track record.
